Westone Capital initiates large scale real estate development projects and acquisitions with a select group of long-time investor partners.
Gordon Horsman, founder and CEO of Westone, uses his decades of experience to envision the project or acquisition opportunity and can complete the preliminary design, pro formas and craft entitlement strategies to allow the project to proceed. Westone engages architects and other professionals as necessary. Westone also creates the initial written materials and agreements to engage other stakeholders.

Joanne Solmundson, First Partner

Joanne handles general administration, tax and general corporate duties for Westone Capital. She performed these same duties for Bastion US Homes, a company established to purchase and then fully refurbish hundreds of homes in the United States. Gordon Horsman was the CEO of that company, which purchased most of the homes from Fannie Mae (FNMA).

James Hancock
James Hancock has, and is, presently working with Westone Capital to produce detailed Master Plans for two large scale projects in Greater Vancouver, both of which are in the early planning stages.
James is one of the leading design architects in Canada. Jim is an architectural graduate from Dalhousie University.
In 1979 Jim formed his own company, James Hancock Architects Ltd., which later expanded to become Hancock Bruckner Eng + Wright Architects. In 2005 HBEW merged with the IBI Group, one of Canada’s leading architectural and engineering companies. During 2022 the IBI Group combined with Arcadis, one of the world’s largest design and consulting companies with some 33,000 employees in 250 offices across 70 countries.
Over his career to date, Jim has been responsible in designing more large-scale high-rise buildings in Vancouver than any other architect.
